We have seen a few international guests into our very intimate concerts, travelling from afar!... So thought I would take the chance to welcome your arrival, and to twist your arm to join us one day. Right in the middle of Ossola Valley, leaving the banks of Lago Maggiore, you'll find Domodossola.
With its 20.000 inhabitants,Domodossola is a country town with great commercial life, thanks to the Saturday market, traditional and ancient, always crowded with people coming from the neighbouring valleys and Switzerland.In the heart of the historic centre, Piazza del Mercato has a historical background and is surrounded by porches, arcades and homes built between XVI and XIX centuries.
By night, the Piazza lights make a rather comforting and relaxing feel, where you can enjoy a few drinks and watch the steady paced italian life go by,The newer part of Domodossola hosts its mant bars and shops, and is fronted by the large station building, where you will find regular trains to and from Milan, and the other direction to Switzerland, ideal for day trips.
In una conca al centro delle valli ossolane, lasciando le sponde del Lago Maggiore si trova Domodossola.Cittadina che sfiora i 20.000 abitanti, ha una intensa vita commerciale, resa assolutamente originale dal tradizionale e antichissimo mercato del sabato, frequentato dalle popolazioni valligiane e dalla vicina Svizzera.Cuore del centro storico & la Piazza del Mercato, irregolare, circondata da portici e logge e da case erette tra il XVI e il XIX secolo.
Il territorio circostante é un fascino infinito e multiforme di natura rigogliosa e incontaminata, di paesaggi sconfinati, di arte millenaria, di cultura che trova la sua piú viva espressione nel ricco folklore locale, nel prezioso artigianato, nella gustosa e sana gastronomia di montagna.
Estate inverno offrono equivalenti possibilitá di piacevoli soggiorni.Particolarmente allettanti le escursioni, in ogni periodo dell' anno, alla scoperta di scenari naturalistici incontaminati come l'Alpe Veglia, il Monte Rosa, la Val Grande, i colori della natura, la purezza primordiale di decine di laghi alpini, sono gli elementi di un 'paradiso perduto' che qui si lascia ritrovare.
